January has always been a really special month for me, as my boyfriend is celebrating his birthday. To make his special day even more memorable, I've been surprising him in different ways.

This year, based on his comment (around Christmas time he told me how badly he wanted to get a little cabin for a few days), I planned a little vacation for us in the South of Estonia.

To my surprise, I accidentally found our new favourite Airbnb - @rannaresort, and I knew that this was the place for this year's celebration.

If you know us, you know that we love little accomodations and try to avoid these big hotels. For me personally, I like the privacy and the authentic feel these little cabins often can offer us on a much more personal level.

Ours and possibly your new favorite Airbnb in the South of Estonia - the good bits

✨ Let's start with the location. Perfect location for those who want to feel everything this remote nature can offer you. This Airbnb is located in Võrtsjärve (like on an actual lake, as it's a raft-house), that's not too far from second biggest city in Estonia - Tartu (about 45 minutes ride) or Elva (about 25 minutes ride). Now is also a great time to visit it, as Tartu is also Europe's culture city of 2024 and can offer you lots of sightseeings and events.

✨ The planning of this house! Let me tell you, we've never liked any place this much. There was literally nothing we would've changed. This seemingly small cabin was soo spacious, so comfortable and stylish! The kitchen was the right size, the bathroom had loads of space, upstair bedroom was nice and both patios were bigger than expected.

✨ Details! It's clear that the hosts have really put in the thought of this place with intent to make it as comfortable as possible for the guests. Every detail went together with the over-all picture. The choice of the towels, soaps, dishes, bedsheets, it was really pleasing for the eye. And I can't even express to you how comfortable the couch was!

✨ The scenery and wildlife. You can expect to arrive at the most beautiful location with the amazing view on the lake. Window behind your bed, perfect for stargazing or to boost your mood instantly after waking up, seeing this beautiful view. Hearing the birds chirping or seeing little deer going about their ways - we saw like 20 deers within two days.

✨ The hosts. So sweet, respond quickly, make sure you're comfortable and have the greatest time there. They'll suggest you things to do around there, or places to see. Offer you extra towels, supply you with wood for sauna etc.

We really had the greatest time and my boyfriend was pleasantly surprised of this place and day I had planned out for him. We really took some time off, wandered around, chilled, cooked some delicious food, hopped in sauna, played some board games. Our relax levels were to the max.

We both agreed that this is our new favourite place, that could be even better in the summer time. To see this water flowing around you, do some water activities and chill on the patio with friends. We will definitely be visiting this place again!
